Communities across Illinois face a serious healthcare provider shortage. Highly educated and skilled Physician Assistants (PAs) can meet that need but are restricted by unnecessary and outdated practice barriers. Some PAs are even leaving for neighboring states. It’s time Illinois expands access to safe, high-quality healthcare teams.

Support legislation that puts PAtients First!

Senate Bill 2758/House Bill 4692 will:

  • Continue the current, collaborative partnership between PAs and physicians while removing burdensome paperwork requirements like written agreements and practice notifications.
  • Allow PA scope of practice to be fully determined at the practice level, consistent with the PA’s education, training, and experience.
  • Create a PA regulatory board, allowing PAs to have greater input on the regulation of their profession.
