Across Oklahoma, rural areas and medically underserved communities are facing a serious healthcare provider shortage. Nearly 1,800 licensed and highly skilled PAs stand ready to answer the call but are restricted by unnecessary and outdated practice barriers. It’s time to modernize Oklahoma’s PA practice laws and expand access to safe, high-quality healthcare teams. PAs across the state are working hard and are asking for your support on SB 1915, which will modernize PA practice laws.

SB 1915 will:

  • Remove unnecessary administrative burdens for PAs to make it easier for patients to access the care they need, where and when they need it
  • Allow PAs to be designated as primary care providers to further serve their communities
  • Enable PAs to volunteer in the case of a disaster or emergency
  • Lower the costs of Oklahoma’s healthcare system by enabling PAs to be paid directly for the services they provide
